Does your child need something fun, healthy and team-oriented after school? At After School Club we love to teach new climbers and cultivate all-around climbing skills. We provide a safe environment for learning with a knowledgeable staff and a clean facility. This well-rounded climbing experience encourages safety, friendship, and a healthy lifestyle for our young climbers while promoting growth opportunities in the areas of leadership skills and overcoming challenges. 

Mission of Club

We provide a professional and safe climbing atmosphere, modeling a culture of honor and encouragement for our climbers. Our goal is to empower young people toward their talents and interests and to reinforce positive values in the process. This program is designed to introduce, inspire and educate through rock climbing, team building and fitness.

Age Groups

We have two programs for two age groups. Pebble Wrestlers are 6-9 year olds and Cliff Hangers are 9-14. If you child is 9 years old, you have the option to choose either program depending on your child's skill and maturity.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Does my student need to have any prior climbing experience?

    • No. Our program provides coaching geared to all climbing levels.

  • What kind of clothing should my student wear?

    • We recommend non-restrictive, athletic clothes.

  • Does my child need climbing shoes?

    • Yes. We provide shoe options for rentals and to purchase. 

  • Do you have to be a pre-existing member to join our program?

    • No. The cost of our program covers equipment rentals and climbing time.

  • Is Shasta Rock Club affiliated with local Charter Schools?

    • Yes, APL, New Day and Redding School of the Arts. We are open to including other charter schools. Email us for more info. 

  • Are water and/or snacks provided?

    • We encourage students to bring a water bottle and healthy snacks if desired. Water bottles, Gatorade, and Cliff Bars are available for purchase at Shasta Rock Club.

  • Is it a problem if my child can’t attend every Climbing Club session?

    • No, however to gain the most from our program, we highly recommend that students not miss sessions.

  • How many sessions are available per week?

    • One sessions per week. However, the tuition includes a membership which means students can come and climb on their own time during regular business hours, 7 days a week.
